Nasim Launches All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP
Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for Automobiles Peugeot in Malaysia, has launched the highly anticipated All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP.
The All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP has all the distinctive attributes of an executive sedan with D-segment qualities to rule the upper C-segment. Exclusively engineered and designed to enrich drivability, the All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP mesmerises with its sleek design and detailing in every aspect. Its features blend dynamic driving and improved efficiency that create a distinct balance between sophistication and purity.

With versatile looks coupled with easy-to-use functionality that will impress the senses, the All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP reflects the marque’s synonymous charisma. The structured silhouette’s sweeping contours from front to rear express precision and complete balance between elegance, vivacity and high calibre design. In the centre of the large centrally-placed chrome grille sits the Peugeot lion, its heritage proudly on display. The light signature radiates full LED technology that extends into the LED headlamps with auto light functions, auto retractable side mirrors with LED indicators and LED tail lights, symbolising its strong character and futuristic style. Its aerodynamic design is further emphasised by 17-inch two tone lightweight Alloy wheels ‘Rubis’.
Engineered to create a strong sense of dynamism, the new Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) developed by the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group carries with it a wealth of advantages that benefit the All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP in terms of 140kg worth of reduced weight, lower centre of gravity at 20mm, improved balance, reduced overhang and lighter technical components as well as enabling more room to express its inherent flair.
The interior of this charismatic vehicle features the Peugeot i-Cockpit which offers an instinctive, safer and natural driving experience through cutting-edge technology. The remarkably innovative Peugeot i-Cockpit consists of four integrated components: a sport leather compact steering wheel for an intensely enthralling sensation, a high position head-up instrument panel with stylishly symmetrical design needles for easy viewing without taking the driver’s eyes off the road ahead, a high centre console and a 9.7-inch HD Multifunction Touchscreen for intuitive driving.
Recognised for its design, the Peugeot i-Cockpit was awarded ‘Most Beautiful Interior’ at the 29th Annual Festival Automobile International.
Other premium features that add to the immersive driving experience include premium black leather seats, High Fidelity Arkamys sound staging with 6 speakers, full digital connectivity with USB and Bluetooth, automatic electric parking brake, intelligent keyless entry with push start, integrated reverse camera, automatic dual zone climate control via touchscreen, integrated reverse camera, 565-litre trunk and electric lumbar and massage function in the driver seat. An especially distinctive feature that stands out is the Smart Park Assist II. The automated parking manoeuvring system offers both parallel and perpendicular parking options for effortless parking.
Safety is fundamentally assured in the All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP where smart safety technology is fully integrated. For reliability and protection, the All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP comes with six airbags and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) featuring Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). Other safety features include 3 steel grades of body construction (High Strength Steel, Very High Strength Steel and Ultra High Strength Steel), Hill Start Assist, three sets of ISOFIX points at the rear for child seats, pretensioner safety belt with load limiter and seatbelt alarm audio, advanced electric power steering and Peugeot Rolling Code Transponder immobilizer security. Another unique addition is the Blind Spot Information System (BLISS) which warns the driver of the presence of another vehicle in the blind spot angle of their vehicle.
Powerful and fuel efficient, the 1.6-litre twin scroll turbo high pressure (THP) engine produces 167 PS and 245 Nm of torque for excellent performance. The fuel efficiency of the All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP on a combined cycle is rated at 6.5-litres per 100 km, providing superior fuel economy. Stop Start Technology ensures optimal control over fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as it deactivates the engine when speed is below 20kph and restarts smoothly when the accelerator is pressed.
Additionally, the engine is matched to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with Quickshift technology. This technology makes quicker gear changes possible while guaranteeing excellent fluidity and a high degree of driving pleasure. Its output is improved by reducing internal friction and using lockable converters that prevent any slippage.
The All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP is available in six striking colours – Aluminium, Alpine White, Lucifer Red, Premium Black, Aster Grey and Bourrasque Blue.
The All-New Peugeot 408 e-THP is priced at RM143, 888 OTR with insurance.
