Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin Visits Children’s Cancer Ward and Old Folks Home to Spread Ramadhan Cheer
KUALA LUMPUR, 21st May 2019 – Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, the CSR foundation of Naza Group of Companies, visited an old folks’ home and the Children’s Cancer Ward in Hospital Kuala Lumpur over the last few days to spread cheer during the Ramadhan month.
In the last week, the foundation’s volunteers visited Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah old folks’ home in Kajang to make the month of Ramadhan more meaningful for them. The Co-founder & Director of the Naza Group of Companies, Puan Sri Datin Seri Utama Zaleha Ismail and her family were also present to help with the distribution of Zakat and daily necessities to residents of the home.
“The Naza Group has been practising the sharing of festive joy with welfare homes since the foundation was established, through the foundation’s community outreach programmes that underline our initiatives of being a caring corporate citizen that is actively involved in community building,” said SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, Group Executive Chairman & CEO, Naza Corporation Holdings.
Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin’s volunteers, Naza Group shareholders and their families also made a visit to the Children’s Cancer Ward in Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), led by SM Nasarudin. The children at the ward were entertained with clown appearances and fun activities with the volunteers. The children also received duit raya, essentials and Hari Raya goodies courtesy from the foundation.
“We want to share our good fortune and blessings with the less fortunate especially during the month of Ramadhan. All the activities and programmes by Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin serve the purpose of giving hope, strength, courage and motivation to the needy. We hope to be a part of a caring society and continue to give back to the communities we operate in together with our employees,” added SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, Group Executive Chairman & CEO, Naza Corporation Holdings.
Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin was established in honour of the Group’s late founder Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin with a mission to provide aid to the underserved communities in Malaysia based on three key pillars – Education, Community Development and Healthcare. The Naza Group, a successful privately owned Bumiputera conglomerate, will continue to reach out to more charitable organisations through their philanthropic and social outreach programmes. The Foundation believes in giving back to society and improving the quality of life of the less fortunate. Over the years, Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin has distributed zakat to 26 schools, donated 188 vehicles, conducted 12 education workshops, and donated school uniforms, food items and necessities.
