Borgo Panigale (Bologna) / Ingolstadt, 19th March 2020 – Ducati closes 2019 positively, consolidating the growth that has characterized the last years of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. A total of 53,183 (2018: 53,004) bikes were delivered to customers worldwide, keeping sales above 50,000 units for the fifth consecutive year and aligning with a global market growth of 1.4% in the >500 cc segment.

Turnover at year-end 2019 reached €716 million (2018: €699 million), up 2.4%, with operating profit of €52 million (2018: €49 million) and an operating margin of 7.2%, compared with 7.0% the previous year. Notably, turnover per bike—about €13,500—hit the highest value in company history, underscoring the move towards the premium end of the market consistent with the brand values “Style, Sophistication, Performance. Trust”.

The Panigale and Multistrada families were pivotal in this performance. Panigale remained the world’s best-selling supersport for the second consecutive year with a 25% market share, while the Multistrada line achieved its highest sales since debuting in 2003, buoyed by the 950 S and updated 1260 Enduro variants.

Ducati Motor Holding now counts 1,655 employees, with a network of 720 dealers and service points across more than 90 countries.
