SURVIVAL PACKS (FOOD BASKETS) FOR LOW-INCOME GROUPS
The year 2021 posed great financial challenges for most Malaysians due to the COVID-19 pandemic that had swept the world.
In response to the situation, in November 2021 Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin took the initiative to help underprivileged families by contributing food baskets containing basic necessities. The baskets were delivered to 800 residents of PPR Port Klang, Kota Damansara and Flat Desa Mentari to help ease their financial burden. The food baskets were worth RM50 each, totalling RM40,000.
On 29th November 2021, in collaboration with Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP), Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin continued its initiative by contributing food baskets to morgue workers who tirelessly served as frontliners during the pandemic. The total donation amounted to RM10,000, with 200 baskets each valued at RM50. The ceremony, held at Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) headquarters, was attended by Tuan Zakaria bin Ismail, Naza World Corporate Services Advisor, YBhg. Datuk Mohd Ajib Bin Ismail, Director of JAWI, and Tuan Haji Abdul Hakim Amir Osman, Acting Chief Executive Officer of PPZ-MAIWP.
